Admission / Eligibility

BBA

  • Candidate must have passed the Grade 12 Examination with a minimum GPA of 1.8 with at least a D grade in each subject in Grade 11 and Grade 12. Or
  • Completed Higher Secondary or Intermediate Examination with Minimum Second Division

BCA

  • Candidates must have passed the NEB Class 12 examination or an equivalent level test from a recognized academic institution.
  • Candidates must have completed a course (at least 100 full marks or 5 credits) in Mathematics (Mathematics/Business Mathematics/Applied Mathematics) or Computer Science/Computer Application in a NEB or comparable SLCE (class 11 or class 12) examination.
  • Candidates must have a minimum of 45% or a CGPA/GPA of 2.0 (on a scale of 4.0) and at least Grade C (or Grade D in the case of A-level) or 45% in Mathematics/Computer Science. Other courses do not have a minimum threshold of Grade C (in the case of A level, Grade D) or 45%.

BE

  • Candidates must have passed the NEB Class 12 examination or an equivalent level test from a recognized academic institution.
  • Candidates must have completed at least one course in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (with at least 100 full marks or 5 credits).
  • Candidates must have a minimum of 45% or a CGPA/GPA of 2.0 (on a scale of 4.0) and at least Grade C (or Grade D in the case of A-level) or 45% in each subject (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics).

MCIS

  • BIT/BCA/BCIS/BIM or equivalent (with a minimum 2.0 CGPA or Second Division) from a Pokhara University-accredited university.

ME

  • Candidates holding a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree with a 2.0/4 CGPA (in second division) or higher from universities recognized by Pokhara University are deemed eligible for admission to the M. Sc. CE program.

MSc

  • Candidates with a bachelor’s degree in any discipline of engineering, computer science, or B. Sc. (Physics/Statistics/Math) with a 2.0/4 CGPA (in second division) or higher from universities recognized by Pokhara University are eligible to apply.

Scholarship

Pokhara University Scholarship

According to Pokhara University rules, the college awards scholarships to qualified students. Scholarships in this category are awarded to 10% of the annual student intake.

NCIT Scholarships

The College awards scholarships based on the student’s combined +2/equivalent and NCIT Entrance Test scores.

Performance Scholarships 

Students who obtain an SGPA of 4 in any semester receive full scholarships (no semester fees) for the next semester.

NCIT additionally rewards students who rank first or second in their class.

About the College of Applied Business and Technology

Applied Business and Technology College Formerly known as the College of Applied Business (CAB), it was established in 1998 by a group of seasoned educators and business experts. It is a non-profit organization dedicated to excellence. It is affiliated with Tribhuvan University and provides courses like BSc. CSIT, BCA, BBA, BBS, and BIM.

According to the college, having highly skilled and competent labor is a requirement for the country’s overall development. Additionally, students who are well-educated, have high moral standards and possess in-depth topic knowledge will be more respected by society. Attendance, Evaluation, and Grading System

The annual examination held by the office of the Controller of Examinations, Tribhuvan University, serves as the ultimate evaluation of students. However, in order to qualify for the annual examinations, students must achieve the following requirements:

  • The student must attend at least 70% of the classes that are actually held.
  • Without appearing in the first-year final examination, students cannot appear in the second-year examination.

Methods of Instruction

Colleges that provide the BBS degree should use instructional approaches that prepare students for the reality of Nepalese business, industry, and government in which they will be working. As learning methodologies, a combination of lecturesGraduation Requirements, group discussions, problem-solving exercises, guest lectures, practical practice, and project work will be used. Campuses are also urged to adopt the case method of instruction whenever possible and when necessary.

Graduation Requirements

The BBS curriculum lasts four academic years and results in the awarding of a BBS degree upon completion. All BBS degree candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Completing 19 courses worth 1950 marks and submitting a final project report worth 50 marks with passing grades in all courses.
  • Passing grades in all theoretical and practical components of the courses taken individually.
  • The completion of courses for the fulfillment of the BBS program must take place within the time limit set by Tribhuvan University.

  • Minimum D+ in each subject in grades 11 and 12 with a CGPA of 1.80 or higher / Attained at least second division in the 10+2, PCL, or comparable program; and
  • Completed the entire application process.

Admission Criteria

Written Test: The admission exam known as the Central Management Admission Test (CMAT), which is administered by the Faculty of Management, must be taken by eligible applicants. The test will be conducted according to international testing norms and guidelines. It covers things like Verbal ability, Quantitative ability, Logical reasoning, and General awareness.

The CMAT will consist of one hundred (100) objective questions, twenty-five (25) of which will be in each part and carry a total score of one hundred (100). For the CMAT, the student needs to receive at least a 40% score in order to be eligible for the interview.

Interview

Short-listed candidates will have scores in the CMAT above the cutoff. Interviews and selection for admission will only be conducted with shortlisted candidates.

Admission Procedure

To get admitted to Khwopa College of Engineering, you need to pass the entrance examination conducted by the Institute of Engineering (IOE).
